Highly Recommended - Award Overall when assessing the sound quality and how well these XTZ Cinema Series speakers work together I am struggling to think of any negatives at all. The sheer soundscape they are capable of producing and the way they are so well matched to create a cohesive soundstage that just melts away and does so on a few levels makes you wonder why you would want the new 3D sound formats. There are a few occasions when you just hear a well put together speaker and sound system and things makes sense and you are transported away without noticing. That is what the XTZs were capable of doing for me in my system and it was the cohesive nature of the performance that nailed it for me. While Ive saved it for the end I did notice that the XTZ setup is at nearly $5500 expensive. XTZ sells direct to consumer though and with a generous home-trial period free return shipping and the Cinema series quality of componentry construction and performance theres value here nonetheless. Cost aside XTZs Cinema is a very impressive home theater setup. I cant see recommending it for a music-first layout but I doubt that most such system- builders would be interested anywaythough this Swedish layout is still a very able music reproducer. You can probably tell Im in love with this system. If you think Ive got carried away I can only suggest you have a listen yourself. At this price few speakers emulate the feeling of sonic immersion quite like the XTZ. The additional Atmosphere speakers make the array a good match for modern setup. 5.1 fans shouldnt ignore the core models either. We say: A superior-sounding movie-mad speaker system offering seriious value for money. Plenty of installation flexibility and solid construction. Not the prettiest of cabinets.- Danny Phillips
Great subs im sure you wont be disappointed! Im running them with a pair of PMC BB5is with a pair of Bryston 14BSST2s crossovers in the pre amp so passing through the 3 x12s back into the bass side of the Brystons. After setup I did a final tweek with Lyngdorf RoomPerfect and the results are great. Im in a reasonably large room at 7m x 10m and lots of glass which can be a bit bass lossy also a suspended floor which can reverb a bit but everything comes together well. I now get concert levels of body rocking bass and it sounds tight and tuneful left the bungs in. As well as dance I have a penchant for classical organ and these subs really get us back to performance sound quality with Messiaen and similar where the long pipes are played. Also good on the few BluRays weve run on that system through a projector its the one to use if we know the soundtrack is good. Inception was shockingly good and the first gunshot in Bruges woke up the neighbourhood well. All in all a good pair of powerful subs which Ive never needed to strain to achieve playback as good as or better than the studio intended.
The 3X12 is just wow. Whenever I really push the volume to the max I fear that my house is beeing damaged by this powerfull subwoofer. But it is not only the max SPL that is astonishing it is also how smooth the sub is playing. It never seems to reach any limit and always stays precise. I even use it for music playback since it is a perfect complement for my floorstanding speakers. Great job guys!
With the purchase of (two) XTZ Sub 3x12s I finally attained the bass/sub-bass that I was seeking since starting this hobby. The sound was low visceral articulate and accurate. The sound is never muddy or fatiguing its just there with the proper force and tonality that you can feel as well as hear. Ive never enjoyed listening to music and movies as much as I do now. As an added bonus customer service is exemplary. I highly recommend this product.
I purchased the 3X12 to reproduce subsonic sounds with maximum SPL- the 3X12 perfectly fulfills this task. It accomplishes challenging SPL orgies in my home theater and in comparison to the SVS PB 13 Ultra which I had before it also plays very precise. The 3 X12 is a top model in home cinema for low bass lovers! It lets pant legs flapping and rocking the bed - and sometimes even without you hear it ) I recommend some space in the home cinema where the 3X12 is used in. Otherwise I do not see any alternative in that price range!
Just awesome. I Was a Little bit afraid it was going to be slow but it responds very quick to both Music and Movies. Only problem I have is that I need to reinforce my windows Before they shatter..
